About Us
Christian Media Services was established in 1988 by Dr John Angus, formerly a College lecturer in Education. In 1989 a steering committee was appointed and the organization was subsequently incorporated as a non-profit association.
The Objectives of the association are to:
- Produce media for sharing the Good News of Jesus
- Support the work of Christian Outreach in Australia and abroad
- Establish a video library
In 1990 Fiji was visited and recordings were made in the Fijian and Hindi languages. These recordings were subsequently shared with the local people through visits to villages with the tapes. At that time Fiji was without any broadcast television.
1992 saw the first production of our Video Magazine. The Video Magazine is produced four times per year and distribute by post to subscribers. Each video is designed to provide segments of interest to the Christian Family. The cost is $80 per Annum.
However, Community Television provided that opportunity and our first programs went to air in 1995 on Channel 31, Sydney. Subsequently the broadcasts were expanded to include Arabic, Spanish and Assyrian languages.
We currently broadcast in English on TVS (Channel31, Sydney) and in Arabic on SCTV a Satellite broadcast on The East Coast of Australia.
Satellite Broadcasts
Our Arabic language program “The Door of Hope” is broadcast five days per week on the Optus B3 satellite. The satellite gives good reception on the East coast of Australia reaching Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. A 60cm receiving dish is required.
Establishment of a Small Television Studio
The Eastwood Gospel Chapel made available space for a Television Studio. The area is small but serves our needs well.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
We Believe:
-
The Bible is the inerrant Word of God. For the Christian, it is the full and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
-
There is but one God. The Creator of all things revealed to us as three persons. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
-
The Lord Jesus Christ is the supreme revelation of God to man, being truly God and truly man. He was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life.
-
Man is morally depraved as a result of the entrance of sin into the human race.
-
The only way of salvation for the fallen human race is by God’s grace through faith in the substitutionary and atoning death of the Lord Jesus Christ at Calvary.
-
The resurrection of the Lord Jesus on the third day after His death was physical and is proof of God’s acceptance of His atoning death.
-
Those who receive the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour become inheritors of eternal life and those who reject Him stand eternally condemned.
-
The believer in the Lord Jesus is eternally secure.
-
The Holy Spirit is active in the process of the new birth and He continues His work in the life of the believer day by day as the believer yields to His control.
-
Satan is a person who is opposed to all of God’s plans for man and he is prince of the Power of the air.
-
The Lord Jesus Christ will return personally for His Church, preceding the time of universal peace on earth.
-
It is the responsibility of all believers to be ambassadors for Christ going into all the world to preach the Gospel.
